Updating the retail price for a specific TLD
You may wish to review your margins for a certain TLD and for certain registration/renewal period. This will not take into account upcoming price changes.
To do this:
- Log in to your Reseller Admin Panel
- Hover over ‘Domains' and click ‘View & Edit Domain Pricing’
- Click on 'Edit' near the top left side of the table
- Use the pop-out editor to set your preferred retail pricing. You may also use the toggles in the editor to set the prices to 'ON' (available for purchase) and 'OFF' (unavailable for purchase)
- Once done, click 'Update'
- Ensure the changes have taken effect by checking the appropriate columns on the Domain Pricing page
Bulk updating the retail price for all TLDs
You may want to have the same markup percentage to add on the current wholesale prices to update all your retail prices. This will affect all TLDs, for both registrations and renewals, and for all frequencies. This will not take into account upcoming price changes.
To do this:
- Log in to your Reseller Admin Panel
- Hover over ‘Domains' and click ‘View & Edit Domain Pricing’
- Click 'Bulk Update Retail Prices'
- Add a percentage between 0%-100% and click 'Update Price'
For example, if a current wholesale price is $10. By putting a 10% markup, the new retail price will be $11.
Bulk updating the retail price for specific TLDs
This function allows the flexibility to use a csv file to update your retail prices for one or more TLDs, either by a markup percentage on top of the wholesale price, or a dollar amount of your choice. There is also the flexibility to adjust the retail price for registrations only, renewals only or both. As well as certain frequencies or all.
To do this:
- Log in to your Reseller Admin Panel
- Hover over ‘Domains' and click ‘View & Edit Domain Pricing’
- Click 'Bulk Update Retail Prices for selected TLDs'
- Click 'Download sample' to grab the csv file
Please note:
- product_code NIC-APPL is for registrations and NIC-REN is for renewals.
- tld is for the specific TLD you wish to adjust
- Currency is the currency set in your account, you may find this by going to Domain > View and Edit Domain Pricing and checking the currency listed
- renewal_frequency is the frequency you would like to amend. It either can be '1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10' to apply to ALL frequencies, or selected numbers to apply for selected frequency, such as 1 being 1 year.
- renewal_period is always Y for yearly, as we do not offer monthly billing frequencies for domains.
- retail_price is either a percentage (10%) to apply a markup percentage, or a number (10) to apply $10 on top of the existing wholesale price.
You may refer to some example scenarios below:
Example 1 - You want to update .com.au and .au TLDs to have 10% markup percentage on top of the existing wholesale price, across all frequencies for both registrations and renewals. The CSV would look like:
Example 2 - You want to update .com.au and .au TLDs to have $10 markup on top of the existing wholesale price, across all frequencies for both registrations and renewals. The CSV would look like:
Example 3 - You want to update .com.au and .au TLDs to have $10 markup on top of the existing wholesale price, across registrations only and across 1 and 2 year frequencies only. The CSV would look like:
