Domain Registration
- Newly registered domains will remain in status "processing" until the domains are fully registered after 4-8 weeks.
- The domain name is automatically checked by the registry and if it is not a restricted domain name, it becomes active within a maximum timeframe of 3 hours. The temporary activation of the domain name does not grant the domain name applicant any rights over the domain name. The official registry (EETT) examines the application within a period of 4 - 8 weeks from its submission by the registrar to the Registry and proceeds to either accept or reject the request.

Domain Transfer
A .gr domain transfer must be initiated with a so-called authorisation code.
The owner contact is required and needs to include the current registrants data matching contact details with the registry. Otherwise, the transfer will fail.
The official registry (EETT) examines the application within a period of 4 - 8 weeks from its submission by the registrar to the Registry and proceeds to either accept or reject the request.
