How do I use the application installer?

Overview

Some of our website hosting plans include an automated package installer that allows users to install popular third party website applications such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. Before installing these applications, please be aware that they are not developed by us, so our support for them is limited.

Please follow the instructions below to install your chosen application using our application installers.

Application installer on cPanel Hosting

Please follow the instructions below to locate and use the automated application installer on cPanel Hosting.

  1. Log in to the Console
  2. Hover over the domain you want to make changes to and click 'Manage'
  3. Click 'cPanel Login'
  4. Click 'MySQL Database'
  5. Create a Database
  6. Create a MySQL User
  7. Add the User to the Database
  8. Assign all privileges to the user
  9. Keep note of your database name, username and password
  10. Go back to the main cPanel Home page
  11. Click 'Softaculous Apps Installer'
  12. Select the package of choice
  13. Click [Install]
  14. Enter in a username/password
  15. Select the location/directory where you want to install the application
  16. Select the version of the software you want to install
  17. Enter in your database details (from step 9)
  18. Complete installation
  19. Take note of the application username and passwords you choose as you will need these when logging into your application for the first time
  20. It may take 2-5 minutes for your application to be installed.

 

Application installer on Cloud Hosting

Please follow the instructions below to locate and use the automated application installer on Cloud Hosting.

  1. Log in to the Console
  2. Hover over the domain you want to make changes to and click 'Manage'
  3. Click Cloud Hosting
  4. Click Applications in the left menu
  5. Locate the package you want to install from the list provided
  6. Locate the Install Location column and modify it as per your preference. Leave the Install Location blank if you want to install the application in the root directory, eg. http://www.your-domain.tld/
  7. Click [Install]
  8. Follow the installation prompts
  9. Take note of the username and passwords you choose, as you will need these when logging into your application for the first time.

It can take 2-5 minutes for your application to be installed.
