Manage Customer Products & Price Lock FAQs

What is the Customer Pricing Dashboard?

The Customer Pricing Dashboard is a new area within the Reseller Portal that allows you to view and manage pricing for your own and your customers' products and services in one place.

How do I access the Customer Pricing Dashboard?

This can be found within your reseller portal - Products > Manage Customer Products Beta

We are continuously improving the Reseller Portal. Once all features from the Manage Customer Products page are available in the new Customer Pricing Dashboard, the legacy page will be removed.

What is the Price Lock feature?

Price Lock allows you to lock a retail price for a specific customer product or service.

When a price is locked, the customer will continue to renew at that locked retail price.

This gives you greater flexibility to offer special pricing arrangements to selected customers while maintaining your broader pricing strategy.

Why would I use Price Lock?

Price Lock is useful if you:

  • Have negotiated special pricing with a customer
  • Want to honour a promotional rate
  • Need to maintain a consistent renewal price for a specific customer
  • Want to protect a customer from future pricing changes

Is there a minimum price I can lock?

Yes.

To apply a Price Lock, the retail price must be at least $0.01 above the wholesale price of the product or service.

If the retail price is equal to or less than the wholesale price, a Price Lock cannot be applied.

What happens when a product is not price locked?

If a product or service is not price locked, the renewal amount will be based on the retail price currently configured in your pricing table at the time of renewal.

This means any pricing updates you make to your pricing table will be reflected in future renewals for unlocked products.

What happens if the wholesale price increases?

A Price Lock can only remain active if the locked retail price is at least $0.01 above the current wholesale price.

If a wholesale price increase causes the locked retail price to become less than $0.01 above the wholesale price, the locked retail price will be automatically adjusted to $0.01 above the new wholesale price.

The Price Lock remains in place, and future renewals will continue to use the adjusted locked retail price unless the Price Lock is manually changed or removed.

Example:
If a product is Price Locked at $10.00 and the wholesale price increases from $8.00 to $10.50, the locked retail price will automatically increase to $10.51 to maintain the required $0.01 difference. The Price Lock will remain active.

What is the difference between Reseller Pay and Customer Pay?

The payment responsibility determines who is billed at renewal.

Reseller Pay

When a product is set to Reseller Pay:

  • The reseller is billed directly
  • Billing occurs at the wholesale price

Customer Pay

When a product is set to Customer Pay:

  • The customer is billed directly
  • Billing occurs at the retail price configured for that product or service

Can I change the auto-renew setting?

Auto-renew settings depend on the billing term of the product.

Monthly Billing Products

  • Auto-renew is always enabled
  • Auto-renew cannot be disabled

Yearly Billing Products

  • Auto-renew can be enabled or disabled by the reseller

The current auto-renew status is displayed in pop-out side panel when a service is selected.

Do I need to update my pricing table?

We recommend regularly reviewing your retail pricing to ensure:

  • Your margins are set correctly
  • Customer pricing remains accurate
  • Renewal amounts align with your pricing strategy

Will changing my pricing table affect existing customers?

Products and services that are not price locked will use the latest retail price from your pricing table at renewal.

Products and services that are price locked will continue to renew at their locked retail price until the lock is removed.

Can I remove a Price Lock?

Yes.

You can remove a Price Lock at any time through the Customer Pricing Dashboard.

Once removed, future renewals will use the retail price configured in your pricing table at the time of renewal.

How can I tell if a product is price locked?

The Customer Pricing Dashboard includes a Price Lock Status field, allowing you to quickly identify whether a product is currently locked or unlocked.

What happens to legacy products?

Legacy products are not affected by these changes and will continue to operate under their existing pricing and renewal model unless otherwise advised.
